项目概述

Xavier College Preparatory High School is committed to providing an inclusive and equitable 学习 experience for all students.  Xavier's faculty and staff understand and appreciate the diversity of 学习 and strive to provide additional support to help students reach their academic potential.  Most courses are offered at various levels of academic rigor (college prep, 荣誉, AP)，以满足每个bet365中文的学术需求.  All students benefit from a daily rotating class schedule in order to experience different classes at different times each day.

Accommodations are meant to provide an equitable 学习 and assessment opportunity for a student who has a disability. A student may or may not feel that their disability is a hindrance in 学习 and testing situations and therefore may or may not require accommodation in all circumstances. bet365中文 will have different needs even though they may share the same diagnosis. It is at the discretion of the student to decide how they would like to use their accommodations.

在来泽维尔之前, we recommend that you schedule a meeting with our 学习专业 to discuss possible accommodations and resources available for students with disabilities. It is important that you disclose your child’s disability during the application process. Disclosing your child’s disability will not negatively impact Xavier’s admissions decisions, but instead will allow us to provide the appropriate accommodations during admissions and placement testing.

在你孩子上泽维尔大学期间, each identified student will work with our 学习 specialist all 4 years of high school. They will also be assigned a college counselor when they reach junior and senior year. Our 学习 specialist focuses on ways to improve and support executive functioning skills, 学习, emotional support and advocacy as well as academic accommodations.  根据收到的文件, the 学习 specialist will work with students and families to create a 504 Student Support Plan that will provide the necessary accommodations to support your child academic needs.

之后,泽维尔, your child will have the necessary advocacy skills to help them disclose their disability once admitted to college. Post secondary institutions are required to provide reasonable accommodations. Since post secondary institutions no longer have to implement 504 or student support plans, it becomes imperative that students understand their needs and are able to disclose this information effectively. 在大多数情况下, students will continue to receive the same accommodations in college as they did at Xavier.

绝对不是! Denying a student based on a disability is considered discrimination. Most colleges have student disabilities services on campus. Your child’s 504 plan will be shared with teachers confidentially. Parents will approve the 504 plan before it is disseminated to faculty.
